Installation of BCS new committee held thru’ an Iftar Mahfil

The new executive committee for the tenure of 2022-24 of Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS), the largest organization in the IT business sector of the country, came before the members for the first time through an Iftar and Doa mahfil after winning the election. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the chief guest at the Iftar and Doa’ Mahfil held at the Border Sambhar in the capital on Monday (April 18) evening. BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder was the special guest at the Iftar Mahfil presided over by BCS President Subrata Sarkar. Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak called upon the BCS member organizations to meet all the demands on the digital devices ‘Made in Bangladesh’. Expressing his best wishes and congratulations to the newly elected committee, he hoped that the new committee would play its role in strengthening Bangladesh's position as a digital exporting country. Palak said that in this holy month of Ramadan, we are practicing the teachings of Siyam, so that we can practice the teaching in the remaining 11 months as well. Besides, we have been able to implement the vision of Digital Bangladesh, for the last 13 years with their talent and guidance through manufacturing digital devices and exporting those after meeting the demand of the country. e-Cab President Shomi Kaiser and General Secretary Abdul Waheed Tamal and BACCO General Secretary Touhid Hossain, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority Bikarna Kumar Ghosh and other former leaders of the organization were also present on the occasion. The election of Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) 2022-24 term was held on March 16. The port folios of the new executive committee was selected that night. Subrata Sarkar and Kamruzzaman Bhuiyan were nominated for the post of President and Secretary General respectively. Rashed Ali Bhuiyan was nominated as Vice President and Mohammad Nazrul Islam as Treasurer. The directors are Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Mohammad Monirul Islam and Mosharraf Hossain. Later, on March 31, the former president Md. Shahid-ul-Munir handed over the responsibility to the new committee at the BCS office.
